Becoming Sleek

You all know that I’m an ultimate Celeteque fangirl. I’ve tried most of their products and loved almost all of them. If I were to choose only the top 5 products, what would they be? This post is dedicated to the top 5 Celeteque products that will always be on my vanity/bathroom. Here they are, in no particular order.

Celeteque Hydration Facial Moisturizer

This is my go-to moisturizer (day and/or night) when I have no particular skin issue I want to address. It is a great everyday moisturizer, and it keeps my skin calm.

Celeteque Advanced Anti-Aging Cleansing Oil

A new formulation made it so much better. It definitely felt too, well, oily, in its previous incarnation. Now it’s still a bit oily, but it no longer lingers on the face. I like using this whenever I forgot to remove my makeup before jumping in the shower. Yup, this sits with my bath stuff now (hence the peeling label), and I like it that way!

Celeteque Hair & Scalp Care Clarifying Shampoo

Speaking of showering, this one is also a permanent resident in my bathroom. I use this every Wednesday without fail, and I think my hair is all the better for this weekly resetting. I’m only on my second bottle so far since at once-a-week-use it takes forever to finish a bottle.

Celeteque Brightening Facial Wash

This is my non-specialty facial wash. The default, so to speak. I use this every morning before putting on makeup, and at night when I don’t feel like using specialty products. It cleanses very well without that squeaky clean feel (I don’t like that so much), and leaves my face feeling fresh.

Celeteque Acne Solutions Cleansing Gel

On the random days when I sprout (non-cystic) pimples, I break this one out. It is very effective, and will speed up the clearing out of the pimples to at most a couple of days. I like the feeling of a gel cleanser on troubled skin, very soothing.

There you have it, my top 5 Celeteque products that I always have with me. What are your Celeteque favorites?

As I’ve mentioned several times in this blog, I don’t usually get acne anymore after I got past my puberty period. I would only get the occasional pimple or two around the beginning of my monthlies, or when my skin would react negatively to some cosmetic product I used. Lucky, I know, and I’m definitely thankful for it. Still, it would be nice if I had clear skin all the time especially when I have important events I need to attend.

Luckily I discovered just how effective the Celeteque Acne Solutions products are, just at the time I got a big stubborn pimple a few days ago. I got these three products in the early bird prize I got from the Celeteque Loyalty Card Launch event. Let me tell you about each one.

First is the Acne Spot Corrector Gel. This tiny 5ml wonder tube contains PHA and BHA that work on reducing pimples and other acne imperfections. This is the first product I tried, and I would apply this after cleansing to the tiny pimples that appear on my face. This is pretty effective against small sized acne, and works pretty fast too. You only really need a tiny amount to apply directly on the acne, so this tube goes a long way. It costs Php169 and is available in most supermarkets and drugstores.

Next we have the Acne Cleansing Gel. It has salicylic acid to help remove dead skin cells and dirt. This is the second product I turned to, when I started getting bigger pimples that the spot corrector gel couldn’t handle alone. I used this to cleanse my face at night, before applying the spot corrector gel. This dual-product combo is usually enough to remove slightly bigger acne. This 50ml tube costs Php270.

Lastly, we have the Acne Clearing Facial Moisturizer Gel. In addition to salicylic acid (which unclogs pores like the cleansing gel), it also has Acnacidol BG which reduces oil secretion and prevents the growth of acne-causing bacteria. It also has french spring water to aid in the moisturization of the face. I was forced to add this product to my acne-fighting regimen when I developed the most stubborn pimple. I only used this at night (in place of my usual Restorative Firming Overnight Cream) after cleansing but before the spot corrector gel. This trio of products are an amazing combination that was able to finally overcome my recent acne problems. This 50ml tube costs Php335.

Check out this trio in action. This is how my cheek pimple looked like. This is one of the most stubborn of acne I had, and two days of the spot corrector gel alone couldn’t handle it. I had already stopped using face bases (primer, bb cream, foundation) here.

Have you tried this? What products do you use to fight acne?

Today I will review my new favorite brand of skincare: Celeteque. It all started when I realized I needed to apply moisturizer before applying on makeup in the morning. I am not growing any younger, and I want to start a good skincare routine. I chose Celeteque primarily because it’s very accessible (available in most supermarkets and drugstores) and the price is reasonable. celeteque1

The first product I tried is Celeteque Hydration Facial Moisturizer.

This moisturizer applies on very lightly on the face, and gets absorbed fast. This is a huge deal since it doesn’t add up to the preparation time in the mornings, as you will be able to apply your makeup over this a few seconds after applying moisturizer. It keeps the skin fresh and supple even under heavy makeup. This small tube lasts me for a long time (about 3-4 months) and costs only Php127 for the 50ml size, and Php 210 for the 100ml.

Emboldened with my success with the moisturizer, the next one I tried is the Celeteque Hydration Alcohol-Free Toner. I’ve not had much luck with my toners recently as they all turned out to be too harsh. I always experienced some amount of stinging and I was really getting tired of that. Luckily enough, this toner from Celeteque was very gentle, yet effective enough to clean out my pores. The downside to this is that since this is very watery, you’ll need to put a lot of it onto a cotton pad to effectively reach out to all the pores. I’ve been using this for about a month now, and I have not experienced any stinging or breakout. As a bonus, it doesn’t smell bad or strange. This costs only Php82 for the 65ml bottle, and Php 129 for the 125ml.

Lastly, I recently added to my routine the Celeteque Hydration Facial Wash. A little goes a long way here. Just a very small dab of product will lather up pretty well, and you can really feel it do its cleaning powers on your face. It doesn’t bring the squeaky clean feel, but the face feels so much brighter and refreshed. This really works for the everyday, non-heavy duty cleansing needs. This facial wash costs Php75 for the 60ml bottle, Php118 for the 100ml, and Php270 for the 250ml pump bottle.

I reviewed a fourth product, the Celeteque Hydration Makeup Remover Cleansing Wipes, in a separate post.

Bonus review! I’ll add a short word on the Celeteque Ultra-Lifting Concentrated Serum from the Restorative Line. I won this product from a Celeteque twitter contest, and I was so lucky to receive a full-sized bottle! This is the first serum I tried (I have started using this before the Shiseido products) and I was really interested in trying it out.

This serum has a very thick consistency. The bottle comes with a dropper to dispense the product, and a small squeeze of the dropper will give you a tiny blob of serum. This tiny blob is actually enough to cover the entire face! It glides on smoothly, and doesn’t feel greasy or oily. It gets absorbed by the skin within a couple of minutes too, so again it saves you a bit of time in the evening. The bottle actually recommends you to use this morning and evening, but I opted to only use this with my evening routine. I can say that I am very impressed with this product, and I have confidence that this will help maintain my skin elasticity as well as reduce whatever wrinkles I may be developing. This 30ml bottle costs Php899.

Pros: reasonably priced; available in most supermarkets and drugstores; a little goes a long way; effective in their respective areas

Cons: none really
