I’ve been itching to go shopping and finally I was able to find the time to do so. I ended up with this gigantic haul from Watsons near my office. Warning: Long Haul Post ahead.

Let’s start with this pair of Watsons Round Puffs, each a set of 100 cotton rounds. I got them both for Php89 (it was on a Buy 1 Take 1 sale). I will always need cotton rounds for my daily skincare, so I thought this was a fair buy.

Next is Nouveau Classic Collection of 6 claw clips. I want to wear my hair down (instead of up in a ponytail as per usual) and clips are the best way to keep it tidy. This cost me Php 84.75.

watsons02

Speaking of hair, I’m on a mission to redeem my lifeless hair. I’ve already started by using the Pantene Miracle Water from my Dec-Jan BDJ Box and the Snoe Oil for All from my Feb Glamourbox. I decided to go for this Hair Treats Hair Spa in Argan Oil. The instructions are basically to massage onto scalp after shampooing and leave on for about 15 minutes with a shower cap, then rinse off. I’m hoping to do this once a week. This 250-g tub cost me Php72.75.

Next is Myra VitaGlow Tinted Facial Moisturizer with SPF15 in Ivory. In the mornings I have usually been using my Celeteque Hydration Moisturizer plus either my Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream SPF30 or my Maybelline Shine Free Face Powder SPF18. Lately though I’m getting very pressed for time and I want a faster routine for those types of mornings. A tinted moisturizer would serve as moisturizer, sunblock, and face base at the same time and would save me loads of time. It comes sealed for your protection, and this 35-ml tube cost Php135.

Since I couldn’t test it out in the store and there was only one available shade there (ivory), I decided to immediately break it out and swatch it.

It may look a little too light for me, but blending it further makes it look more natural and closer to my skin tone.

I also went ahead and bought two products from Ever Bilena: an eye pencil and a lipstick. This Evera Eye Pencil with Aloe Vera and Vitamin E is a very short brown pencil and cost only Php35.

The lipstick I bought is Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick in Pink Flame, which cost Php155 (the most expensive item in this haul). It’s an MLBB shade that was the only one that struck my fancy among all the available shades, including those of other lipstick types.

I went ahead and swatched both the eyeliner and the lipstick. The lipstick is a nice safe pink and the eyeliner is a dark brown, which is exactly what I was hoping for.

Finally, what is a haul without nail products? I found that Color Trends has new shades (yay!) and I chose this yellow one called Sherbet Mango Yellow. It’s of course the usual price of Php19.75. Next is Bobbie Cocktail Hour Gradation Nail Polish in Pink Cadillac, for Php80. Lastly, a bottle of Chic Nail Color in Love Orchid, a dainty frosted pink, for Php29.25.

watsons19

The gradation nail polish is so interesting! I haven’t done gradation on my nails yet, and I can’t wait to find the time to try this out. I couldn’t resist opening it, to show you how sparkly this set is. Check out the glitters on that third bottle.

There you have it! All these items cost me just a little over Php700. Have you tried any of these? Let me know!

[Preface: Been on an unannounced hiatus for a week, but I’m back! Lots of posts on the backburn, nail posts and reviews coming up. Expecting my subscription boxes soon as well, so there will be unboxing posts scheduled. Thanks for your patience!]

I want to start by saying, I LOVE Saizen. I have always loved their bento materials back when I still had time to make everyday bentos. Now that I’m concentrating on cosmetics and beauty products, I came back to my original love and found great products for my newfound hobby.

I was lucky to catch an end of season sale at Saizen, and I got this Creation Eyeshadow palette for only, get this, Php25! It’s even in the 2013 color, green! This amazingly cheap palette has six pans of eyeshadow, three of which is a shade of green. The other three are a very light baby blue, a taupe/tan, and what is probably white or very pale cream. All shades are shimmery. It also comes with a probably-unusable double-ended brush, and it has no mirror.

I also got a couple of this Ellefar Princess Chiffon Eyeshadow, a 4-color eyeshadow palette that comes in an attractive black plastic compact with rose details. The first palette is in Twilight, and the shades are (clockwise from top left): a very light pink as a highlighting color, a tan/brown for the crease, a yellowish beige for the lid, and a dark chocolate for either brows or as a liner color. I should also mention that all colors are shimmery, and it doesn’t come with a mirror.

The second Ellefar Princess Chiffon Eyeshadow palette is in Bronze. The shades are (clockwise from top left): a very light gray or slightly dirty white as a highlighting color, a pale tan for the lid, a black or dark gray for the brows or as a liner color, and a bronze for the crease. Again, all shades are shimmery, and the palette has no mirror. Both of these palettes are the standard Php88.

Finally, I got a Winmax Nail Lacquer, Nail Sparks variant (#8 shade). It’s a very shimmery candy red shade. It’s also Php88. Here are shots of the bottle, and the swatch (3 layers).

I’ve used all of the products above and I am generally pleased with all of them. I use the Ellefar palettes regularly, although usually only single colors as the shimmers are pretty strong to use for the office. I really like the Winmax polish, it’s a fun sparkly shade to wear!

Do you shop cosmetics at Saizen? Tell me about it!

My first haul post! I am so excited! I was finally able to get my shopping done this week, and I got the following:

Three San San nail polishes from HBC, Php37 each. Shades: Amethyst, Arctic Green, and Lavender Blush. I needed a purple polish to go with my cocktail dress that I wore to a wedding. I bought two shades of purple just to be safe. I’ll be putting up the swatches soon.

Lemony Flutter Cuticle Cream from Lush, Php450; Lander Nail Polish Remover from Landmark, Php129.75; Nivea Baby Smoothy Cream from Landmark, Php164.75. As I have developed a rather serious hobby in nail painting, I decided I should be willing to invest in products that will help protect my nails. I’ve seen a lot of recommendations from other lacqueristas for Lemony Flutter, and I’m glad to have found some tubs in the Trinoma branch of Lush. I am also about to run out of my Caronia nail polish remover, so I grabbed this bottle of of Lander. I’ve also gotten raves about the Smoothy Cream, used as a moisturizer. I can’t wait to try this out.

firsthaul1

Elf Brightening Eyeshadows, Php129.75; Fanny Serrano Dark Brown Eyebrow Pencil, Php65; Artist Studio Concealer Brush, Php49.75; all from Landmark Trinoma. I wanted more neutral eyeshadow colors to play with, so I grabbed this neutral palette from the Elf counter. I also broke my Nichido eye pencil, so I decided to try out a new brand. Lastly, I’m trying to complete a set of makeup brushes, and I decided to get a concealer brush for now.

firsthaul2

White plastic trays from Landmark Trinoma, 3 for Php49.75. I needed something to organize the small mess that is my makeup collection. These trays are cheap enough, and small enough to fit my dresser/shelf.

firsthaul3

I can’t wait to try them all out! Hopefully I can get things properly documented so you can see some of these reviewed here.
