You all know that I’m an ultimate Celeteque fangirl. I’ve tried most of their products and loved almost all of them. If I were to choose only the top 5 products, what would they be? This post is dedicated to the top 5 Celeteque products that will always be on my vanity/bathroom. Here they are, in no particular order.
Celeteque Hydration Facial Moisturizer
This is my go-to moisturizer (day and/or night) when I have no particular skin issue I want to address. It is a great everyday moisturizer, and it keeps my skin calm.
Celeteque Advanced Anti-Aging Cleansing Oil
A new formulation made it so much better. It definitely felt too, well, oily, in its previous incarnation. Now it’s still a bit oily, but it no longer lingers on the face. I like using this whenever I forgot to remove my makeup before jumping in the shower. Yup, this sits with my bath stuff now (hence the peeling label), and I like it that way!
Celeteque Hair & Scalp Care Clarifying Shampoo
Speaking of showering, this one is also a permanent resident in my bathroom. I use this every Wednesday without fail, and I think my hair is all the better for this weekly resetting. I’m only on my second bottle so far since at once-a-week-use it takes forever to finish a bottle.
Celeteque Brightening Facial Wash
This is my non-specialty facial wash. The default, so to speak. I use this every morning before putting on makeup, and at night when I don’t feel like using specialty products. It cleanses very well without that squeaky clean feel (I don’t like that so much), and leaves my face feeling fresh.
Celeteque Acne Solutions Cleansing Gel
On the random days when I sprout (non-cystic) pimples, I break this one out. It is very effective, and will speed up the clearing out of the pimples to at most a couple of days. I like the feeling of a gel cleanser on troubled skin, very soothing.
There you have it, my top 5 Celeteque products that I always have with me. What are your Celeteque favorites?

The state of our skin is really important healthwise as well as beauty wise. We need to pay attention to it as much as we pay attention to our general health. Lotions and creams are not enough; we can improve the state of our skin from the inside as well! Here are the ways we can easily improve our skin from the inside:
Sleep – This is actually one of the most common abuse we inflict on our body in our recent fast-paced lifestyle. It is such a huge impact on our health, which of course includes our skin. Have you noticed that you are more prone to skin-related issues if you’re short on sleep? Try reading up on sleep cycles to maximize your sleep time and find out when and how long to sleep for maximum benefit.
Exercise – In general we hear that exercise is good for our health, but did you know that exercise gives benefit to our skin as well? Through regular exercise we increase the blood flow to our skin which helps nourish skin cells and keeps them vital, and allows for the overall cleansing of the skin cells. This alone may be a good enough reason to get off our ass and start moving!
Hydrate – You know the adage: 8 glasses of water everyday. It may be a little hard to adjust for some people, but I find that drinking water instead of soda or iced tea in the long run provides a huge positive change to general health. It also makes the skin well-hydrated, which results to better skin health. I find that a good water bottle/container is enough to encourage me to drink more water at work. This latest one I got is a Kor hydration bottle – possibly the best water bottle I’ve ever tried.
Eat Well – This goes almost without saying. Eating healthy will lead to a healthier body. Eating well need not be boring; you can use a cookbook such as this Yummy Healthy At Home cookbook by Summit Books (Php150 only). Lots of tasty yet healthy recipes to help us cook healthier food.
Take Vitamin E – Vitamin E basically helps the skin recuperate and bounce back from all the bad elements it was exposed to during the day. Myra Vitamin E supplement is rich in anti-oxidants that help boost the skin from within. This, in conjunction with lotions and creams, will keep skin looking healthy, young, and glowing.
Myra E now has new endorsers: Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo and Sara Geronimo, both with skin that glows from within.
Here’s something I’ve always wondered about Myra E: What’s the difference between the 300E variant and the 400E variant? The main difference is that the 300E has synthetic vitamin E (dL-Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate) while the 400E has natural vitamin E (dL-Alpha Tocopherol), which means, of course, that the 400E is more expensive. Per bottle of 30 pieces, 300E costs Php241.50 while 400E costs Php354.90. The 400E variant also comes in bottles of 8s and 100s.
You can learn more about Myra Holistic Skin Care by following their twitter and IG accounts @MyraHolistic or through their facebook.
Disclaimer: I was provided a press kit containing the Kor hydration bottle, one bottle of 30s each of the 300E and 400E variants, and the Yummy cookbook for my consideration.
Congratulations to Sheela Castillo and Ging Valdez, winners of this giveaway!
Thank you to everyone who joined!
There is a first time for everything! And for me in this case, my first spa experience courtesy of the newly opened Asian Secrets Whitening Spa at SM North The Block (5th Floor). The name sounded awfully familiar, and as I arrived at the venue I realized why: it is the exact same company that gave us the Asian Secrets Lulur Whitening Body Scrub. This product has been making the rounds in the local beauty blogging sphere, and much praise has been given to the product.
Luckily I was invited to try out their new Whitening Spa, featuring their new product the Asian Secrets Lulur Whitening Facial Scrub. This is basically their version of the body scrub but specifically for the face. I received the signature facial scrub service which included cleansing, scrubbing (with the abovementioned facial scrub), hot compress, mask, moisturizer, and face and shoulder massage. As I was wearing makeup when I arrived they also removed my makeup using remover wipes. All of these lasted for about an hour, after which I was offered hot tea or water as post-treatment drink. Check out the press photos below of the facade, spa hallway, and treatment cubicle.
As a first timer, my experience could not have been any more soothing and relaxing. I did not know what to expect out of spas, but my attendant Angel was quite forthcoming of all the steps in the treatment and kept a very soothing presence. All aspects of the treatment felt really good, and the products smelled nice. There was relaxing background music of the right level of loudness (which turned into random bird sounds later on), and the light was pleasantly dimmed. Each cubicle has its own treatment table, and I was provided a clean white sheet to cover my chest (I needed to unrobe since the treatment included a shoulder massage). I was also provided a nice cloth-lined wicker basket to store my things while I was undergoing treatment. Perhaps the only thing that I thought weird was since I had the front-most cubicle, the front door recessed into the wall of my cubicle whenever someone entered/exited the treatment areas. It was a little disturbing, but not really experience-breaking.
All in all I enjoyed my first spa experience! Thank you to Asian Secrets and Marcie Linao for this opportunity. I was even provided an Aquazorb face towel and two tubes of the Facial Scrub so I can continue trying the product at home.
I am very glad to share this experience with two of my readers! Each of them will receive the Lulur Whitening Facial with Massage (60 minutes) for free! How do you win? Just follow the steps provided in the rafflecopter widget linked below. Take note that the first three steps are mandatory, and not fulfilling those will disqualify you from winning. Make sure to read and follow the rules stated below.
Contest runs from today until November 5 midnight Manila time. The winner will be randomly drawn using Rafflecopter. I will be announcing the winner on this blog as well as on the Becoming Sleek facebook and twitter pages once I evaluate the entries, and will be notified through the provided email address. She/he will be given 48 hours to respond after which I will draw another winner. Readers 18 years old and above are allowed to join. I will ship the voucher to the winner. Philippine addresses only! Check back daily, some of the entries can be done everyday.
Disclaimer: The spa service, products, and vouchers were provided for free for my consideration, but I am not required to write about it. All opinions are mine.
A big thanks again to Marcie of Love and Light Productions for the invite!
Gals! I found a sale on Bifesta Cleansing Water at Watsons Greenbelt 1. From a regular price of Php419, I was able to score a bottle for only Php335! That’s Php84 savings for what is arguably the best makeup remover in the Philippines! Go check it out, I’m not sure how much longer the sale is.
EDIT: As of April 1 2013, the sale is no longer in effect at this branch.
It’s said that Emerald Green is the Pantone color of 2013. I thought that putting it on my nails is a great way to celebrate it. I found this new brand of polish in Watsons for only Php20, by far the cheapest polish I’ve seen. Let’s see if it’s any good.
It didn’t exactly have a color name, so I’ll just say it’s emerald green. I used again my Caronia base and top coats.
I used two coats here. It’s a little streaky, but putting two coats seem to have fixed it. Adding the top coat made it a bit glossier.
Here’s another view. Not a bad shade of green, I think. As to the Sassy brand of polish, the quality of polish mostly reflects its price. It’s very streaky, and the consistency is a bit runny. The brush is acceptable. The bottle is small. It chipped pretty fast though, even with the Caronia top coat. After only a day it showed signs of wear.
Will I buy Sassy again? Possibly. The price is hard to beat, and I don’t really mind buying cheap stuff especially as I am still on the learning phase.
I have a confession to make: I am addicted to nail polish!
I wanted to have appropriate nails to welcome 2013 in. These are what I used:
Upgraded! I now have a base coat, again from Caronia.
I used the blue Chic nail polish first and checked if it is enough. This is how it looked like with just the blue polish:
It seemed nice and shiny, but somehow it didn’t look sparkly enough. I added the Chic glitters and here’s what came out:
Not bad! I like how sparkly it is, just right enough to welcome the new year in!
Have a fruitful and prosperous new year everyone!
What better way to show my newfound enthusiasm for nails and nail polish than painting my own holiday themed nails! Here’s mine:
Sparkly! I used a nice girly pink Etude House nail polish for the base and Caronia glitters for the, well, glitters! Topped with Caronia top coat.
You can see the glitters much better in this picture:
I like that the top coat is really tough and protects the polish and glitters. It’s been four days since I painted these on, and it’s only just starting to chip at the base.
Merry christmas everyone!
